My
professional career as a psychotherapist began in 1979. I
initially worked as a child and family therapist and parent
educator at The Children’s Place. In 1982 I worked at
the Johnson County Mental Health Center as an outpatient therapist
with children and adults offering individual and family therapy.
I joined Counseling and Human Relations LLC in 1985 and have
been doing psychotherapy with children, adolescents and adults.
I believe most individuals come for counseling/psychotherapy
to make changes, but do not know how. It takes courage (especially
for someone with no prior therapy experience) to reach out
and verbalize their needs and goals. I see my responsibility
is to give guidance and tools to my clients to help them in
facilitating change in their lives.
